Metacentric Diagram
A metacentric diagram is a graphical representation of the stability characteristics of a ship. It shows the position of the center of gravity (G) and the center of buoyancy (B) of the ship, as well as the metacentric height (GM), which is the distance between the center of gravity and the metacentre. The metacentre is the point at which a vertical line passing through it intersects the line passing through the center of buoyancy and the center of gravity. The diagram is used to determine the stability of the ship in different conditions, such as when it is loaded or when it is subjected to external forces such as waves or wind.
