Maritime Labour Certificate
A Maritime Labour Certificate (MLC) is a document that certifies that a ship has been inspected and found to meet the requirements of the Maritime Labour Convention (MLC), 2006. The MLC sets out minimum requirements for working conditions, accommodation, recreational facilities, food and catering, health protection, medical care, welfare and social security protection for seafarers. The MLC applies to all ships engaged in commercial activities, including fishing vessels, regardless of their size or country of registration. The MLC is designed to ensure that seafarers are treated fairly and have decent working and living conditions on board ships.
