COLREGS

COLREGS stands for Collision Regulations or International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea. It is a set of rules that govern the conduct of vessels in any condition of visibility. The main objective of COLREGS is to prevent collisions between two or more vessels by providing a standard set of rules for navigation and communication. The regulations cover a wide range of topics, including the conduct of vessels in narrow channels, the use of lights and signals, and the responsibilities of vessels in different situations. The rules are recognized by all maritime nations and are enforced by the coast guard and other maritime authorities.
