Carrier Frequencies

In maritime communication, carrier frequencies refer to the specific frequencies used to transmit information signals between two points. These frequencies are typically in the range of 3 kHz to 3 GHz and are modulated with the information signal to create a radio wave that can be transmitted over long distances. Carrier frequencies are carefully selected to avoid interference with other communication systems and to ensure reliable transmission of information. In maritime navigation, carrier frequencies are also used in the Global Positioning System (GPS) to transmit location and timing information to ships and other vessels.
