Audible

Audible is a term used to describe the ability of a vessel to be heard by other vessels or shore stations. This is an important safety feature as it allows vessels to communicate their presence and intentions to avoid collisions or other dangerous situations. Audible signals can be produced by a variety of means, including horns, whistles, and sirens. The International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea (COLREGS) specify the types of audible signals that vessels must use in different situations, such as when approaching other vessels in restricted visibility or when navigating in narrow channels.
