Quarter Deck

The quarter deck is a raised deck behind the main mast of a sailing ship. It was traditionally reserved for the ship's officers, and was the most important place on the ship. The quarter deck was used for ceremonies, such as the hoisting of the colors, and was also where orders were given during battle. It was also the place where punishments were carried out. In modern times, the quarter deck is still used as a ceremonial area on naval vessels, and is often where the ship's bell is located. It is also used as a command center during battle and other operations.
