Zenith

In maritime context, Zenith refers to the highest point in the sky reached by the sun or another celestial body. It is the point directly above the observer and is located at an angle of 90 degrees from the observer's horizon. In navigation, the Zenith distance is the angular distance between the observer's zenith and the celestial body being observed. This measurement is used to determine the observer's position on the earth's surface. The Zenith is an important concept in celestial navigation and is used to calculate the latitude of a ship at sea.
