Z-drive
Z-drive is a type of propulsion system used in marine vessels, particularly in tugs and offshore support vessels. It consists of two steerable thrusters mounted at the stern of the vessel, with each thruster capable of rotating 360 degrees around a vertical axis. The Z-drive provides superior maneuverability and control, allowing the vessel to move in any direction without the need for a rudder. The system is operated by a joystick or other control device, which allows the operator to precisely control the direction and speed of the vessel. Z-drive is a highly efficient propulsion system that reduces fuel consumption and emissions, and is widely used in modern marine vessels.
