Baleen whales have a comb-like structure in their mouths that they use to filter small organisms from the water, while toothed whales have teeth and hunt for larger prey. Whales are important to the marine ecosystem and have been hunted for their meat, oil, and other products. Many species of whales are currently endangered due to overhunting and other human activities.
