Weather Buoys
Weather buoys are instruments that are deployed in the ocean to collect meteorological and oceanographic data. They are typically anchored to the seafloor and equipped with sensors that measure parameters such as air and water temperature, wind speed and direction, wave height and period, and barometric pressure. The data collected by weather buoys is transmitted in real-time to shore-based stations, where it is used to generate weather forecasts, monitor ocean conditions, and support a variety of marine operations. Weather buoys are an important tool for understanding and predicting weather patterns, as well as for ensuring the safety of maritime activities.
