VLOC

VLOC stands for Very Large Ore Carrier, which is a type of bulk carrier designed to transport iron ore. VLOCs are among the largest bulk carriers in the world, with a capacity of up to 400,000 deadweight tons (DWT). They are specifically designed to transport heavy cargoes, such as iron ore, from the mining ports to the steel mills. VLOCs are equipped with specialized cargo handling equipment, such as conveyor belts and cranes, to efficiently load and unload the cargo. Due to their size, VLOCs require deep water ports and specialized terminals for loading and unloading. The demand for VLOCs has increased in recent years due to the growth of the iron ore trade.
