Submerged

Submerged refers to an object or a part of an object that is completely covered by water. In maritime context, a vessel or a part of a vessel can be submerged due to various reasons such as collision, grounding, or intentional sinking. Submerged vessels can pose a threat to navigation and environment as they can obstruct shipping lanes, leak hazardous materials, or cause pollution. Salvage operations are often required to remove the submerged vessels or to prevent them from causing further damage. Submerged wrecks can also be of historical or archaeological significance and may require protection.
