Centrifugal Pump
A centrifugal pump is a type of pump that uses a rotating impeller to increase the pressure and flow rate of a fluid. The impeller rotates inside a casing and creates a centrifugal force that moves the fluid towards the outer edge of the casing. This force increases the fluid's velocity and pressure, allowing it to be pumped to a higher elevation or over a longer distance. Centrifugal pumps are commonly used in maritime applications, such as for ballast water management, bilge pumping, and firefighting systems.
