Stripping (unstuffing)
Stripping (unstuffing) is the process of unloading a container or a vessel of its entire contents. This process is usually done at a warehouse or a terminal. Stripping is necessary when the consignee or the importer wants to take possession of the cargo and clear it through customs. During the stripping process, the cargo is carefully removed from the container or vessel and inspected for any damages or discrepancies. The cargo is then sorted and stored in the warehouse or terminal until it is ready to be transported to its final destination.
