Radar

Radar is an electronic system that uses radio waves to detect, locate, and track objects such as ships, aircraft, and weather formations. It works by transmitting a radio signal and then receiving the signal that bounces back off the object. The time it takes for the signal to return is used to determine the distance to the object. Radar can also provide information about the object's speed, direction, and size. In maritime and seamanship context, radar is an essential tool for navigation, collision avoidance, and search and rescue operations. It allows ships to detect other vessels, land masses, and hazards in low visibility conditions such as fog, rain, and darkness.
