ODME

ODME stands for Oil Discharge Monitoring Equipment. It is a system used on board ships to monitor the discharge of oily water from the bilge. The ODME system measures the oil content in the water and ensures that it is within the legal limits before it is discharged overboard. The system consists of a monitoring unit, a control unit, and a measuring cell. The monitoring unit continuously measures the oil content in the water, while the control unit ensures that the discharge is stopped if the oil content exceeds the legal limit. The measuring cell is used to calibrate the system and ensure accurate measurements. ODME is an important system for preventing pollution and ensuring compliance with international regulations such as MARPOL.
