Malacca-max refers to the maximum size of a vessel that can pass through the Strait of Malacca, which is a narrow stretch of water between the Malay Peninsula and the Indonesian island of Sumatra. The current Malacca-max size is around 20,000 deadweight tonnage (DWT), which means that vessels larger than this size cannot navigate through the strait.
