Height

In maritime context, height refers to the vertical distance of an object or structure above a reference point, usually the waterline. The height of a ship is measured from the keel to the highest point of the superstructure or mast. The height of a bridge or other overhead structure is measured from the waterline to the lowest point of the structure. Height is an important consideration for ships navigating under bridges or power lines, as well as for determining the clearance required for loading and unloading cargo. In addition, the height of waves and swells can affect the stability and safety of a vessel at sea.
