Louver

A louver is a device consisting of a set of angled slats or flat strips fixed or hung at regular intervals in a frame, used as a ventilator or as a means of shading. In the maritime context, louvers are commonly used on ships to provide ventilation and air circulation in enclosed spaces such as engine rooms, cargo holds, and living quarters. They can be found on the sides of ships, on deck, or on the superstructure. Louvers are designed to allow air to flow freely while keeping out rain, sea spray, and other elements. They are typically made of durable materials such as aluminum, stainless steel, or plastic.
