Half Deck

In maritime context, Half Deck refers to a partial deck in a vessel that is located between the main deck and the forecastle deck. It is usually situated at the aft end of the forecastle deck and is raised above the main deck level. The half deck is typically used for storage purposes and may also house crew quarters or machinery. It is an important part of the ship's structure as it provides additional strength and support to the vessel's hull. The term 'half deck' is also used to refer to the uppermost deck of a ship's hull, which is located above the waterline and extends from the bow to the stern.
