Clinker-built

Clinker-built is a method of boat building where the edges of hull planks overlap each other. The planks are fastened to each other with copper or iron rivets. This technique creates a tight and strong hull that can withstand rough seas. Clinker-built boats have been used for centuries in Northern Europe, particularly in the Scandinavian countries, and were also popular among the Vikings. Today, clinker-built boats are still used for recreational purposes, such as sailing and rowing.
