Chock

A chock is a wedge-shaped block made of wood or metal that is used to secure a vessel in place. Chocks are commonly used to prevent a ship from moving or rolling while it is docked or anchored. They are placed between the hull of the ship and the dock or between two vessels to prevent them from colliding. Chocks are also used to secure heavy equipment and cargo on board a ship during transport. They come in various sizes and shapes depending on the type of vessel and the purpose for which they are used.
