Chains

Chains are heavy metal links that are used to anchor a ship to the seabed or to moor it to a pier. They are an essential component of a ship's anchoring system and are designed to withstand the forces of wind, waves, and currents. Chains are typically made of high-strength steel and are attached to the ship's anchor at one end and to a shackle or other attachment point at the other end. The length and thickness of the chain depend on the size of the ship and the depth of the water in which it will be anchored. Chains are also used in other applications on board a ship, such as securing cargo or equipment.
