Standards of Training, Certification, and Watchkeeping (STCW) refers to a comprehensive set of minimum safety and performance standards for the international maritime industry. Established by the International Maritime Organization (IMO), the STCW sets the legal framework for the training, certification, and watchkeeping for seafarers to promote safety of life and property at sea and protection of the marine environment.
