SSAS
Ship Security Alert System (SSAS) is a security measure implemented on board ships to alert the authorities of any piracy or security threats. It is a discreet system that can be activated by the crew in case of an emergency. Once activated, the system sends an alert to the ship owner's security office and the relevant authorities, providing the ship's location and other important details. The SSAS is a mandatory requirement for all ships under the International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code.
