Slush

In maritime context, slush refers to the semi-solid mixture of ice crystals and water that forms on the deck of a ship or on any exposed surface in cold weather conditions. Slush can be a major hazard for ships as it can cause the deck to become slippery and unstable, making it difficult for crew members to move around safely. Slush can also accumulate on the ship's rigging and equipment, causing damage and reducing their effectiveness. To prevent slush from forming, ships may use de-icing agents or employ crew members to manually remove the slush from the deck. Slush is a common occurrence in polar regions and during winter months in colder climates.
