SIRE

SIRE stands for Ship Inspection Report Programme. It is a comprehensive inspection regime for ships that was developed by the Oil Companies International Marine Forum (OCIMF) in order to assess the safety, environmental and technical aspects of tanker vessels. The SIRE programme is used by charterers, ship owners, and oil companies to assess the quality of a vessel before chartering it. The inspection is carried out by an accredited inspector who assesses the vessel's condition, crew competence, and management systems. The SIRE report is then made available to potential charterers, who can use it to make informed decisions about the suitability of the vessel for their needs.
