Rotating Column
A rotating column is a vertical structure on a ship that rotates around its own axis. It is used to support and rotate heavy equipment, such as cranes, radars, and communication antennas. The rotating column is usually located in the center of the ship and is supported by a large bearing at the bottom. The column is driven by an electric motor and can rotate 360 degrees. This allows the equipment mounted on the column to be positioned in any direction, making it easier to load and unload cargo, as well as to communicate and navigate while at sea.
