Panting Stringer
A panting stringer is a longitudinal structural member fitted in the cargo hold of a ship to prevent deformation of the hull caused by the longitudinal forces generated by the movement of the cargo. It is usually made of steel and runs parallel to the keel. The panting stringer is designed to absorb the longitudinal forces generated by the cargo and prevent the hull from buckling or deforming. The panting stringer is an important component of the ship's structure and is essential for maintaining the structural integrity of the vessel during cargo operations.
