Outboard
An outboard motor is a propulsion system for boats, consisting of a self-contained unit that includes engine, gearbox and propeller or jet drive, designed to be affixed to the outside of the transom. Outboard motors are used on small to medium-sized boats and are popular for fishing boats, tenders, and small runabouts. They provide a convenient, portable, and efficient means of powering a boat. Outboard motors are available in two-stroke and four-stroke versions, with varying horsepower ratings. They are typically steered by a tiller or a remote control, and can be tilted up when not in use to reduce drag and prevent damage from underwater obstacles.
