Oars

Oars are long, slender poles with a blade at one end, used for rowing a boat through the water. They are an essential tool for manual propulsion of small boats and are commonly used in rowing competitions. Oars come in different sizes and shapes, depending on the type of boat and the intended use. They are typically made of wood, aluminum, or carbon fiber. Oars are operated by rowers who sit facing the stern of the boat and use their body weight and strength to move the oars back and forth in the water. The oars are attached to the boat by oarlocks, which allow the oars to pivot and move freely. Oars are an important part of seamanship and are used in a variety of maritime activities, including fishing, transportation, and recreation.
