LMAA stands for the London Maritime Arbitrators Association, which is a leading international association of maritime arbitrators. It was founded in 1961 and is based in London, UK. The LMAA provides a forum for the resolution of disputes arising out of maritime contracts, such as charter parties, bills of lading, and shipbuilding contracts. The LMAA has a panel of experienced arbitrators who are experts in maritime law and practice, and who are appointed to hear disputes by the parties or by the LMAA itself. The LMAA arbitration process is known for its speed, efficiency, and expertise, and is widely used in the maritime industry.
