Landing Edge

The landing edge is the forward edge of a wing or airfoil, where it meets the relative wind during landing. In maritime context, the landing edge is also used to refer to the forward edge of a ship's hull, where it meets the water during landing or beaching operations. The shape and design of the landing edge is critical for ensuring a smooth and safe landing, as well as minimizing damage to the aircraft or ship. Factors such as the angle of attack, airspeed, and weight distribution must be carefully considered when designing the landing edge.
