Hydrofoil

A hydrofoil is a type of boat that uses wing-like structures called foils to lift the hull out of the water as it gains speed, reducing drag and increasing speed and fuel efficiency. The foils are mounted on struts below the hull and are designed to generate lift as water flows over them. This lift raises the hull out of the water, reducing drag and allowing the boat to travel faster and more efficiently. Hydrofoils are commonly used in high-speed passenger ferries, military vessels, and racing boats.
