Hurricane Deck

The highest deck on a ship, typically open to the elements and located above the main deck. The hurricane deck provides a vantage point for lookouts and is often used for stowage of light cargo. It is also a popular location for recreational activities such as sunbathing and sightseeing. The name 'hurricane deck' comes from the fact that it is the first deck to be hit by strong winds and heavy rain during a hurricane or other severe weather conditions.
