Greenhouse Gases

Greenhouse gases are gases that trap heat in the Earth's atmosphere, contributing to the greenhouse effect. The most common greenhouse gases include carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide, and fluorinated gases. These gases are released into the atmosphere through natural processes such as respiration and volcanic activity, as well as human activities such as burning fossil fuels and deforestation. The buildup of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere is causing global temperatures to rise, leading to climate change and its associated impacts such as sea level rise, more frequent and severe weather events, and changes in ecosystems.
