GPS Systems
GPS (Global Positioning System) is a satellite-based navigation system that provides location and time information in all weather conditions, anywhere on or near the Earth. GPS systems use a network of satellites orbiting the Earth to determine the precise location of a receiver on the ground. The system works by measuring the time it takes for signals from at least four satellites to reach the receiver, allowing it to calculate its exact position. GPS systems are widely used in the maritime industry for navigation, vessel tracking, and search and rescue operations.
