Fore Rake

Fore Rake refers to the angle between the stem and the fore perpendicular of a ship. It is the forward slope of the stem of a ship above the waterline. The fore rake is an important design consideration as it affects the ship's performance in waves and head seas. A greater fore rake angle can help to reduce slamming and improve the ship's ability to cut through waves. However, too much fore rake can increase resistance and reduce speed. The fore rake angle is typically determined by the ship's designer based on the intended use and operating conditions of the vessel.
