The Expeditionary Transfer Dock (ESD)/Expeditionary Sea Base (ESB) Expeditionary Fast Transport (EPF) (EETF) is a highly flexible platform designed to support a variety of missions including maneuver and sustainment, counter-piracy operations, maritime security operations, humanitarian aid and disaster relief missions, and Marine Corps crisis response. The EETF is capable of interfacing with roll-on/roll-off discharge facilities, on/off-loading a full range of wheeled and tracked vehicles, containers, and other cargo, as well as fuel and ammunition. The ship's flight deck can support day and night flight operations for a wide variety of aircraft, including a CH-53 Super Stallion. The EETF is a key component of the Navy's future force, providing the capability to support a wide range of missions in a variety of operating environments.
