Drain Well

A drain well is a structure designed to collect and remove excess water from a ship's deck or other areas of the vessel. It is typically a cylindrical or rectangular container with a perforated top and sides, allowing water to flow in while keeping debris out. The collected water is then pumped out of the well and overboard. Drain wells are an important component of a ship's drainage system, helping to prevent flooding and maintain a safe working environment for crew members. They are commonly found on all types of vessels, from small pleasure boats to large commercial ships.
