Cofferdam
A cofferdam is a temporary structure built to enclose an area and hold back water, soil or other materials during construction, repair or maintenance of ships, docks, bridges, or other water-related structures. It is typically made of steel sheet piles, concrete, or other materials and is designed to withstand the pressure of the water or soil. Cofferdams are commonly used in shipyards to create a dry working environment for ship repair and maintenance. They are also used during the construction of bridges and other water-related structures to create a dry work area for workers to build the structure. Cofferdams can be either permanent or temporary depending on the intended use.
