Bulkhead Sluice

A bulkhead sluice is a valve or gate installed in a bulkhead to control the flow of water between compartments of a ship. It is used to prevent flooding in case of damage to the hull or to isolate a compartment for maintenance or repair. The bulkhead sluice can be operated manually or automatically, and it is designed to withstand the pressure of the water in the compartment. The valve or gate is usually made of steel or other strong materials, and it is fitted with seals to prevent leakage. The bulkhead sluice is an important safety feature in modern ships, and it is required by international regulations.
