Bulkhead Bounding: Bar

Bulkhead bounding refers to the process of determining the maximum water level that a ship's bulkhead can withstand without causing any damage or flooding. This is an important safety measure that ensures the structural integrity of the ship and the safety of the crew and passengers. A bulkhead bounding bar is a tool used to measure the height of the water against the bulkhead. It consists of a graduated scale and a sliding bar that can be adjusted to the height of the bulkhead. The bar is placed against the bulkhead and the water level is read off the scale. If the water level is below the maximum height indicated on the scale, the bulkhead is considered safe. If the water level is above the maximum height, the bulkhead may be at risk of damage or flooding.
