Building Slip
A building slip is a ramp or inclined plane on which a ship is built or repaired. It is a platform constructed on the shore or in a dry dock, where the keel of a vessel can be laid and the ship can be built up from this foundation. The building slip is used to support the ship during construction, and it is designed to allow the ship to be launched into the water once it is completed. Building slips are typically made of wood, concrete, or steel, and they are often equipped with cranes, winches, and other equipment to assist in the construction process.
