Bow Door
A bow door is a large, watertight door located at the front of a ship that can be opened to allow vehicles, cargo, or passengers to be loaded or unloaded directly from the bow. This type of door is commonly found on roll-on/roll-off (Ro-Ro) vessels, ferries, and other cargo ships that transport vehicles. Bow doors are designed to withstand the pressure of the sea and prevent water from entering the ship during loading and unloading operations. They are typically operated hydraulically or electrically and can be raised or lowered depending on the needs of the cargo. The use of bow doors has greatly improved the efficiency of cargo handling and reduced the time required for loading and unloading operations.
