Bevel Square

A bevel square is a tool used in shipbuilding to measure and mark angles on wood or metal. It consists of a handle and a blade that can be adjusted to different angles. The blade is placed against the surface to be marked and the angle is set using a protractor or by eye. The bevel square is then used to mark the angle onto the wood or metal, which can then be cut or shaped accordingly. Bevel squares are commonly used in shipbuilding to mark angles for the construction of frames, planks, and other structural elements.
