United Nations Convention On The Law Of The Sea

The United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) is an international treaty that defines the rights and responsibilities of nations in their use of the world's oceans, establishing guidelines for businesses, the environment, and the management of marine natural resources. It provides a framework for the use of the seas and oceans and promotes the peaceful use of marine resources. UNCLOS covers a wide range of topics, including territorial waters, contiguous zones, exclusive economic zones, continental shelves, the high seas, the exploitation of resources, the conservation of marine life, and the settlement of disputes. It is considered the most comprehensive treaty in maritime law and has been ratified by over 160 countries.
