Salvage Operations

Salvage operations refer to the process of rescuing a vessel, its cargo, or any other property from danger or damage at sea. This can include activities such as towing a stranded vessel to safety, recovering sunken vessels or cargo, or extinguishing fires on board. Salvage operations are typically carried out by specialized salvage companies, who are contracted by the vessel owner or insurance company. The salvors are entitled to a salvage award, which is a percentage of the value of the property saved. Salvage operations require specialized equipment and expertise, and can be dangerous and expensive.
