PV Valve
A PV (Pressure Vacuum) Valve is a safety device installed on the deck of a ship's cargo tank to prevent the tank from either over-pressurizing or vacuum collapsing. It is designed to automatically open and close in response to changes in the tank's internal pressure. The valve opens when the pressure inside the tank exceeds the set pressure, allowing the gas to escape and preventing the tank from rupturing. Similarly, the valve opens when the pressure inside the tank drops below the set vacuum pressure, allowing air to enter the tank and preventing it from collapsing. PV valves are essential safety devices that protect the cargo tank and the ship from potential damage or explosion.
