Polyvinyl Butyral

Polyvinyl butyral (PVB) is a resin commonly used in the production of laminated safety glass for maritime applications. PVB is a thermoplastic material that is highly transparent, tough, and flexible. It is used as an interlayer between two or more sheets of glass to create a strong, shatter-resistant barrier. In the event of an impact, the PVB layer holds the glass fragments together, preventing them from flying apart and causing injury. PVB laminated glass is commonly used in ship windows, windshields, and other applications where safety is a concern.
